Beginners Cabbing Workshop: Open to Members of Gem and Mineral Club of Scarborough only. Members will learn how to cut and polish a cabochon from rough stone. The current workshop is full, but there will be more. Join the club and find out about thje lapidary arts This work will be held at the home of Elfi Berndl and Nick Gere. The Gem and Mineral Club of Scarborough (GMCS) is a hobby club founded in 1963 and incorporated as a not-for-profit corporation in 1997. Our aims, objectives and purpose are to:
* Encourage and promote all aspects of the hobby of collecting and studying rocks, minerals and fossils and of pursuing all types of lapidary work.
* Provide a forum for the free exchange of information and ideas regarding the hobby.
* Conserve natural resources.
