2 Days until Wonders of the Earth Gem Show. 

The Show runs September 24-25.  Saturday 10-6, Sunday 11-5  at Don Montgomery Community Centre – 2467 Eglinton Ave. East, between Midland and Kennedy .  It has convenient access from Kennedy Subway Station

Meet the Artist – Laurie Poirier.

Laurie Poirier is a Toronto Artisan who has been crafting in various forms since childhood.  As an adult, she began teaching paper crafting and through that found her passion for teaching jewellery to all ages. 

Laurie has taught children in schools to seniors in Church groups.  Her classes range from Jewellery 101 to more advanced Chainmaille and Wire working. 

Laurie has been selling at craft shows since 2010 and teaching since 2012 at Michael’s, John Bead Outlet, Gem Expo, Craftandian, GoBoomerang, Scarborough Arts and her own private home studio.

The answer to the previous Quiz:  Saturate salt solution test.  In  glass of water dissolve salt.  So much salt that you can’t dissolve anymore.  Drop your stone into this saturated salt solution.  Amber will float, everything else will sink.
